By: Sara Urquhart. Image by: Justin Hackworth

As an entrepreneur, you have to be your best representative for your work, your brand, and your projects, and that means introducing your business clearly and concisely. Whether you first meet someone in person or online, describing your work succinctly indicates your ideas are solid and informed, and that you’re an articulate, clear thinking professional.

Important Information for Alt NYC

Our Alt Summit NYC event is less than one month away and we wanted to make sure to share a couple updates with you today. First, if you're no longer able to make the event, the last day to cancel your registration is this Saturday, June 1st. Please handle the cancellation before that date to guarantee a refund.

Secondly, registration for Wednesday dinners is now open! Sign-in to your account now and choose which sponsor you would love to spend the evening with. Act quickly, dinner selections are only open until Saturday, June 1 and once a dinner fills up there will be no additional seats. It wouldn't be Alt without great food and great conversations with fabulous sponsors, now would it?

Couldn't make it to NYC this year? Take a look at the newly released June class line-up. With fresh topics like Expanding Your Audience with Kelly Beall and four classes offered for free, the Alt Channel is summer school you won't be embarrassed to attend.

By: Melanie Blodgett

Our very first all online conference went swimmingly and we couldn't have done it without you! Thank you for participating. Thank you for making the chat lively. Thank you for your kind comments. Thank you to the fantastic teachers for sharing their expertise. Thank you for creating a community we're so proud to be part of.

If you've written a post about your experience, we'd love to see it! Please email it to melanie@altitudesummit.com or tweet the link our way.

And if you weren't able to attend, we've got a fresh line-up of online classes for June that you'll want to check out.

Alt for Everyone Starts Tomorrow

Are you as excited for tomorrow as we are? Alt for Everyone is kicking off bright and early tomorrow morning at 8:15 PST with Joy Cho teaching The Art of Being a Goal Getter as the first available keynote session.

If you will be joining us, here is what you can expect:
  • An hour before the class begins, you will receive an email with a link and password for access. If it's not in your inbox, make sure to check your spam folder. You will receive an individual email for each class. If it is 25 minutes until the class begins and you still have nothing, shoot an email to erin@altitudesummit.com, and you will be sent the login information.
  • To view the classes, no special downloads are needed but you do need to have a strong internet connection. Make sure to close out of any other open windows to prevent the video from freezing or running slowly.
  • If the teacher's slides are jam-packed with valuable info, take great notes. While you will not get a copy of the slides, just like a live conference, but you will receive a download link to a handout full of tips and tricks from all the Alt for Everyone teachers. The link will be available during the classes you attend.
  • Each class runs about an hour and the schedule is full so if you are signed up for back to back classes, you've got only a 15 minute break between each one. Prepare yourself with a snack and beverage so you don't miss a minute.
  • If you have any customer service related questions during the conference, please direct them at Erin at erin@altitudesummit.com. She will be available during the entire weekend to help.

Alt for Everyone

We're excited to announce that Alt for Everyone has SOLD OUT! Our first ever online conference is officially fully packed and we are looking forward to seeing all of you there later this week! You can still switch classes until Wednesday, so if you still have one you we're wishing for, keep checking back, you never know if a spot will pop open.

If you have won a ticket to Alt for Everyone, don't fret! As long as you have a code, you can still register. Just follow the instructions and sign on up. Hurry, the codes are only vaild through end of day Wednesday.

There have been a few changes to the Alt for Everyone schedule. The first is that we have added a new class by Alt founder, Sara Urquhart, How to Get Paid What You Are Worth. Finally a class that talks about how to build a strong brand and ask for what you're worth. You won't want to miss it!

We are also lucky to have Liz Stanley, from Say Yes to Hoboken, teaching not one, but two classes at Alt for Everyone. Organized Blogger, will cover great tools, tips and tricks to get organized online and even dive into the details of how to invoice and hire contributors. This class is most helpful to bloggers that have moved beyond beginner status and are building their brand.

We can't wait to see you in three days!

Don't forget, we're looking for Alter Your World submissions all month long and giving away tickets to Alt SF and Alt NY as a thank you. You can find everything you need to know right here.
